Reverend Arthur Lewis, Jr. (Soul Preacher) was born October 29, 1948 to Lillie Mae Boggan and Arthur Lewis Sr. in Forrest Home, Alabama.
He received a high school diploma from Wedgwood High School in 1967 and an Associate Degree from Jackson County Junior College. He also received a B.S.W Degree from Jackson State University, and a course study from Emory University Chandler School of Theology where he received a Masters in Theology.

On January 29, 1971, Arthur married Rena Sue Oatis and in this union, there were three children born; Latasha, Arthur II, and Michael.

Arthur was both a ordained deacon (1971) and Elder (1972) in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church by Bishop Joseph A. Johnson, Jr. After some consideration, Arthur went to C.P. Minnick and he was given an appointment. In 1985, Arthur became an ordained deacon by Bishop Robert Morgan. He was ordained Elder by Bishop Marshall L. Meadors, Jr. Arthur served Valena C. Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in Bay St. Louis, MS; St. Rock United Methodist Church in Waveland, MS, and Holmes Chapel in Pearlington, MS.
In Central Mississippi, Authur served the Forrest Charge, which included four churches; Lynch Chapel, Sherman Hill, Green Grove, and Mars Hill United Methodist Churches. He served the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Biloxi, MS and is now serving The Paulding Charge, consisting of four churches: Leona, Spring Hill, William Chapel, and Oak Bowery United Methodist Churches.

Arthur's journeys have included forty-eight of the fifty states, U.M.V.I.M. Medical Missions to Jamaica, and he has since traveled there seventeen times for various other missions. Arthur has traveled to Frankfurt, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden, Mexico, the Bahamas, Helsinki, Finland, Eastonia, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Russia, Moscow, and the Holy Land in Israel.
Arthur has done V.I. Mission work in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi.
